I reflashed and the socket still shows empty. Was able to see the files under /media/card! So I tried installing some apps to the SD card. Works fine.
So need to go play with it some more.
    Thanks again

Keyboard keeps locking up at random times while using console, even after unsuspending the unit keyboard doesn’t come back anymore. Only virtual keyboard works. Using opie image, 6000

  4. Earl, I have a collie too, and also in my device my 1G SD card doesn’t show as inserted; AdvancedFM shows it as mounted, though, and I can fully use it, so I think it’s only a minor issue of cardmgr.
The clock resets sometimes for me, too, but I didn’t understand what are the exact conditions for reproducing it, yet. I noticed that it happens almost every time battery goes low, and when I hard-reset the Zaurus (switching the battery lid on the back).

John, I also have a tosa (SL6000L) and I do not have this problem with the keyboard. I just suspended it a few times and each time it comes back fine. There is a few seconds delay before the keyboard is usable.

I know it doesn’t help you to solve anything, maybe this information may help you investigate further what may going wrong.

I have a CF and SD cards. Both are working and I didn’t have to remove them after flashing as per instructions. The only problems I encountered to date are: 1) I tried to move a 30MB file from the CF card to the SD card, after about a third of the transfer, the operation stopped with an error and I was not able to find anything on my source card (the CF). Like if everything has been deleted. I restarted Opie and the CF was still showing nothing. I rebooted and then I was able to access again my files on the CF. 2) I was not able to make the WiFi working yet. I got a messsage about the missing prism2_???? module.

One question, what are the e-image… e-image-core… and bootstrap… are for?

    Hi, everybody!

I have tried to install OZ 3.5.4 on my collie (SL-5500) a number of times. The installation process is no problem, works like a charm! The problems begin when I try to install ipk files, like for instance opera6_1.5.4_arm.ipk - then I get errors in the stage called “Linking packages installed in sd”. And the error is something like

    Error linking ‘/media/card/packages/opt/QtPalmtop/opera/start/index.html’ to ‘/opt/QtPalmtop/opera/start/index.html’
…and many other alike errors follow.

Anybody, what is the problem? Should I save the log file from Package Manager and make it into a shellscript with a series of corresponding ln -sf commands? Is there another solution for installing packages that otherwise seem fine on Sharp Zaurus and/or Cacko?

The link to the OE wiki seems to go nowhere. Can someone update the link to the release notes?
