Feed browser

Marcin Juszkiewicz August 24th, 2006

After some coding I want to present Feed browser - tool which can be used to browse OpenZaurus 3.5.4/3.5.4.1 feeds to check for software.

This tool was first written for Ångström distribution, then it got improved and filled with OZ data. It need some love to be finished but this will take some time - most important addon would be searching for package names (currently not yet implemented).

I hope you will enjoy this tool.

    Hey,
That’s great. I think that search feature would be definately extremely useful. I’m thinking about contributing to OZ from some time, and this looks like job for me. Do you need any help with development?

Great tool, thank you. But with Konquerer on KDE 3.4 the left column “Sections” is half off-screen (too far left). With Firefox rendering is OK.

Nice to know that work is progressing!

zen: code is available in OE metadata (org.openembedded.dev/contrib/feed-browser/ directory) and also in http://ewi546.ewi.utwente.nl/tmp/hrw/fb/code/ directory. There are some things which could be improved - contact me or Koen and we will discuss it (IRC on 10-18:00 CEST will be best - freenode.org/#oe).

A.Winterer: will change it - this CSS need more cross-browser work.

I haven’t been able to get the code for libipkg at the specified url above.

In order to help with some bugs,

    1) is there an easy way to download the soft ?

    2) is there a machine where to submit the patch and automagically recompile that recipe, so i don’t have to install all the OE environment on my look-just-200mb-free-on-hd machine ?

Zmiq: feed-browser does not use libipkg at all - its PHP + SQLite.

I meant that browsing the opie and gpe code, I could find a reference to the liipkg, which I wanted to take a look at, but in this package information page there-s no link to the libipkg source code.

Other packages, like opie-packagemanager include a link to a source tar ball for that package.

So my question is, if I want to take a look at the libipkg source code, where can I find it?

    Thanks

Alfredo: you probably hit the moment when ewi was overloaded with builds.
